More about Ementoring

Blue Question Mark

Can't we just email/phone/Skype each other?

To make sure that all our mentees and mentors stay safe and secure, we ask you to communicate through the ementoring website. To make things easier, you should be sent an email alert when you receive a new message. Check here if you're not getting alerts.

Blue Question Mark

Is ementoring just talking?

No! There's loads of other stuff on the SMF mentoring site to support your ementoring. Check out the latest news and resources in the SMF mentoring Library, or ask your mentor about training activities.

Blue Question Mark

Can I send my mentoring partner my CV or job application?

It's currently not possible to send files directly on SMF mentoring. Where possible we recommend copying and pasting the information as plain text. However, in some cases we may be able to help pass them on; drop us a line on support@brightsideuniaid.org

Exclamation Mark

My mentor/mentee doesn't talk to me!

Your mentoring partner should receive alerts by email if they forget to log on for two weeks.

However, if it has been over two weeks and you have heard nothing from your partner, then we suggest that you contact your scheme coordinator who will be able to get in touch to make sure nothing is wrong.

If you’re not sure who your coordinator is contact us by emailing support@brightsideuniaid.org letting us know your name and the name of the mentoring scheme you are on.

Exclamation Mark

I don’t want to continue with the scheme. How do I stop?

It’s fine to end the mentoring relationship, but we ask that whether you are a mentor or a mentee that you try to finish on a constructive note.

Leave a farewell message to your partner, highlighting what you feel has been achieved, then contact your scheme coordinator to let them know that you have finished.
