Problems logging in?

Having trouble logging in? Don't panic - here are a few common problems to check.

I've forgotten my password!

You can get a new password here. Enter your email address and you'll receive a new password by email.

I've forgotten my username!

Your username should be your email address. If you've received any post alerts by email, the address they were sent to is your username for SMF mentoring.

If you think your username has been set to something other than your password, get in touch on support@brightsideuniaid.org

Error Messages

The message you get when you try to log on can help you work out what's wrong:

Unknown user

If you get the message "Unknown User", then the system has not recognised your username. Make sure there are no typing errors, and that you haven't included any spaces. (Spaces often appear at the beginning or the end when you copy and paste your username from an email.)

If you've forgotten your username, check "I've forgotten my username" above.

Incorrect password

If you get the message "Incorrect password", your password hasn't been entered properly. Here area few things to try:

  • Check caps lock: Passwords are case-sensitive, so having caps lock on will stop them from working.
  • Copy and paste: If you've copied and pasted your password from an email, you might have picked up some extra spaces or other characters that stop your password from being recognised. Try entering the password by hand.

If you've forgotten your password, see "I've forgotten my password" above.

Error: You are not registered to this project

This message means that you're trying to log on to the wrong ementoring website. This could be because you've changed projects, or you've followed a link to a different project site.

  • Check the website address is the one you usually log in to.
  • If you've been on a different project before, make sure you're on the right site now.
