FAQs

If you have a question about using the site check to see if it's already been asked in our FAQ section.

Having trouble logging in?

Most people will not need to log in to see the Bright Knowledge library. However, if you are part of a mentoring scheme, you will need to log in to see your conversations. If you do find you are having trouble logging in, have a look at the advice below for the most common causes behind login problems and how you can avoid them.

Have you changed your email address in your profile?

It’s a great idea to add a working email address to your profile. This way you can receive email alerts when you have a message waiting for you (if you add a mobile number a text alert will be sent instead).

As such it’s important to note that whatever changes you make to the email address in your profile will automatically become your new username, and will need to be typed in the next time you log in.

Is your caps lock on?

The login box is case sensitive so if you’re typing in capital letters it may not recognise your details.

Are there any hidden spaces?

When entering your login details you may need to be extra careful that you don’t accidentally enter a space on either side or inbetween words. If there are any hidden spaces the login system will read them as part of your login information and won’t recognise your details.

Not sure whether your username or password is wrong?

If you type in an incorrect username, once the page refreshes it will say 'Login not recognised' under the login box. If your password is wrong it will say 'Password not recognised' instead.

Forgotten your password?

Most people have quite a few passwords to remember so it’s understandable you might have forgotten yours. Providing your username is a working email address you can have your password emailed to you.

Click on the forgotten password link in the login box and a new window will open. In the box provided, type in the same email address you use for your username on Bright Journals and click send reminder. Shortly after, you’ll receive an email with your login details.

What if I’m still stuck?

Then send an email to support@thebrightsidetrust.org and we’ll be happy to help. Please make sure you provide your full name and whether you are a mentor or mentee.
